Next Thursday, May 1st, Applebee's will be donating 15% of bill amounts from the Grants Pass location to WCST! Thank you Applebee's!
To have your check benefit WCST, please present this flyer at the time of purchase. WCST, Mid Rogue Independent Physician Association Family of Companies (MRIPA), and First Call Resolution are partnering in a phone appeal, the 1000 Men Campaign, to support WCST and our fundraising efforts. This is designed to increase awareness and support of WCST and to encourage others to speak out about the devastating and life-threatening effects of domestic violence on women, children, families and our community. Our outreach would not be possible without your financial and in-kind support. This year, MRIPA will match the first $30,000 donated, doubling the impact of your gift!
Donate today! Our annual event, Speak Up, Speak Out will take place on the 17th of April from 5:30-7:30 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in downtown Grants Pass. Check out this flier for more details! Hope to see you all there :)
As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, WCST will have various events and displays throughout the month and in our community.
On Oct. 17th, WCST will be placing 43 large purple flags on the Josephine County Courthouse lawn in honor of the 43 individuals known to have lost their lives as a result of domestic violence in our county since 1970. WCST staff will make a brief presentation and observe a moment of silence at 11 am on October 17th. On Oct. 18: In collaboration with members of the Domestic & Sexual Violence Council, the WCST will co-host the 4th Annual Domestic & Sexual Violence Leadership Summit entitled “The Face of Sex Trafficking in Southern Oregon”. This event will be held at the Grants Pass Golf Course from 10 am – 3 pm. Registration is encouraged. Throughout the month of October: Local area stores are hosting the Silent Witness Exhibit, a series of red, life-sized silhouettes representing women and children in Josephine County who have been killed by acts of domestic violence. The exhibit are on display now and will remain on display for the month of October at various merchants and service providers in Grants Pass along with domestic violence information and materials. Host sites include Great NW Music Co., Sandi’s Candies, Elegance, La Bella Casa Design, and Tierra del Sol. Also throughout the month of October: The Josephine County Library in Grants Pass will host a Domestic Violence Awareness bulletin board display. The board is featuring information regarding domestic violence and volunteer opportunities available with WCST. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. As part of this, we will be having an informational table and Silent Witnesses display at First Friday Art Night. We will be on the G Street side of the Chamber of Commerce Visitor’s Center. Come drop by to show your support and learn more about our organization from 5-9pm Friday October 4th! We'll have informational resources, music, and lovely purple ribbons that you'll be able to wear all month long to help raise awareness of domestic violence and show your support for WCST.
